Children's Dental Services Available to Flatlands Families
Comprehensive pediatric care from first tooth through adolescence
Dental Cleanings
Regular professional cleanings remove plaque and tartar that brushing and flossing miss, especially in hard-to-reach areas between small teeth. Our hygienists are experienced with young patients and know how to make every cleaning feel positive rather than stressful. We also use each visit as a chance to teach children proper brushing habits they can carry with them as they grow.
Laughing Gas (Nitrous Oxide)
Nitrous oxide provides a safe, mild form of relaxation for children who feel nervous during dental procedures. Your child breathes the gas through a small mask, stays fully awake and responsive, and feels calm throughout treatment. The effects wear off within minutes, so your child can return to school or normal activities right away.
Baby Root Canal (Pulpotomy)
When tooth decay reaches the nerve inside a baby tooth, a pulpotomy removes the infected tissue while preserving the rest of the tooth. Saving a baby tooth matters because it holds space for the permanent tooth underneath and supports proper jaw development. Dr. Slepak uses gentle, precise techniques to make the procedure as comfortable as possible.
Enamel Hypoplasia Care
Some children develop with thin, discolored, or missing patches of enamel, leaving teeth more vulnerable to cavities and sensitivity. Our team identifies these concerns during routine exams and provides protective treatments like fluoride varnish, sealants, or bonding to strengthen and shield affected teeth before decay sets in.
